It takes just a few moments to cut most keys in our shops, so we usually offer this quick and easy service while you wait. However, specialist security keys take a little longer, as these are cut by the expert key cutters at our Key Technology Centre instead.

Key cutting prices can vary significantly, as they depend on the type and condition of your existing key. To get an estimated key cutting price, we recommend contacting your local Timpson shop, as our in-store colleagues can offer a much more accurate quote.

No, we can usually duplicate any working copy of your key, so you don’t necessarily have to bring in the original.

No, we do not cut any keys with a customer’s own key blanks. We only cut keys with our own blanks, which have all undergone strict quality checks to ensure they meet our high standards.

Timpson shops cannot replace any lost keys, as we can only duplicate keys using your existing copy. However, the locksmiths at Timpson Security can replace lost keys or any keys that are stuck or broken in your lock!

Every key we cut undergoes rigorous quality checks to ensure it meets the highest standards. In the unlikely event that a key we’ve cut doesn’t work, simply bring it back to your local Timpson shop and we’ll replace it free of charge, as all of our keys are guaranteed.

We can do most security keys. Some can be cut in our branches, but others may need to be ordered from our Key Technology Centre. Some security keys will need you to provide ID, proof of address, and a letter of authority. Please speak with your local branch for more information
